Exit planning and tax savings in the entertainment sector

This case study features our work in the entertainment industry where we helped our client wind up the business and take advantage of favourable tax rates.

Our client came to us from a London based accountancy firm where they were struggling to relate to their relationship partner and obtain clear advice for their business.

Entertainment sector tax advice

The challenge

A prominent figure within the entertainment business for many years, our client was looking to wind up their business affairs, secure their personal wealth and simplify their tax affairs.

The Rouse approach

Working with their financial advisers and other family members we established the annual income requirements and wishes of our client. We then put together a fully tailored service offering, bringing together the specialist skills from across our firm to achieve their desired goals.

The Outcome

During this time we managed to dispose of the residual royalty income and remove the capital value of the business from the company at significantly advantageous tax rates. We also transferred their investments and cash resources into funds designed to protect their income levels and capital value, surpassing our clients initial expectations of what could be achieved.

Our client commented, “I have been delighted with the advice I have received over the last three years, it has been like a breath of fresh air to have an adviser who communicates to me and explain things clearly but also shows such strong technical awareness.”
