Oscar began his career as an auditor before moving into tax, where he has specialised in tax planning for over fifteen years. His deep tax technical knowledge, together with the business experience gained as an auditor, has given him a unique set of skills to provide pragmatic, commercial tax advice across a wide range of sectors. He is both a member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation and the Institute of Chartered Accountants.
He has extensive experience advising shareholders and companies on the tax implications of corporate transactions, including management buy-outs, trade sales, and mergers and acquisitions. His expertise also covers specialist areas such as group structuring, EIS/SEIS, share option schemes (including EMI and growth share arrangements) and Employee Ownership Trusts.
With a strong focus on international business, Oscar is Chairperson of the Praxity UK Tax Working Party, a forum of tax practitioners within Praxity, the world’s largest alliance of independent accounting firms. He regularly speaks at international conferences, delivering updates for companies doing business in the UK, including tax developments and reliefs, corporate structuring, transfer pricing, hybrid rules, cross-border opportunities and global mobility topics.
