Over 800 hospitality businesses join calls for a VAT cut

We are proud to have been supporting the #VATsTheProblem campaign, which is calling for the Government to reduce VAT for hospitality businesses from 20% to 10% ahead of the upcoming Budget.

More than 800 hospitality businesses have now joined the campaign, alongside major names including JD Wetherspoon and Marriott. The campaign, being spearheaded by chef, Tom Kerridge highlights the significant pressure the current VAT rate places on the hospitality sector, which has lost around 100,000 jobs over the past two years.

The #VATsTheProblem petition has now attracted more than 370,000 signatures, demonstrating the strength of support for reform and the growing demand for action to help protect jobs, businesses and the future of the UK hospitality sector.

We will continue to support the campaign and its call for a fairer VAT system for hospitality. You can read our original coverage of the VATsTheProblem campaign prior to its launch here.
