Making Tax Digital is almost here for landlords and the self employed

From 6 April 2026, Making Tax Digital for income tax (MTD for ITSA), will roll out for self-employed businesses and landlords with a turnover above £50,000.

Under the new rules, self-employed individuals and landlords will need to:

  • Maintain digital records of their income and expenses
  • Submit quarterly updates through compatible software
  • File a year end Final Declaration

How we can help you

From choosing compatible software to submitting more regular returns, we understand that this may be a time burden, but we can help.

We have been assisting clients with the necessary steps to ensure they are ready and fully compliant, and we will continue to support clients in the New Year.

If you would like to discuss how we can assist you, please contact our team today.
